It was an exhilarating feeling. Walking down the aisle in a slow and practiced way with countless pairs of eyes focusing on her. The heavily embroidered bodice of her dress fitted snugly to her voluptuous figure. The satin of the full skirt brushed against her legs, making a soft swishing sound. She knew she looked sensational.
The watching women would make plenty of impertinent and jealous comments about her choice of dress, shoes, hair and makeup after the service but she didn’t care. A small smile played around the corners of her mouth at the thought. They would have to be clandestine in their bitchiness as they would not want her new husband misinterpreting their remarks and banishing them from his enchanting lifestyle.
The scent of the hundreds of white roses that were woven through the lacy design of the bower and hung in swathes from the balconies was almost intoxicating. She looked up and saw her intended watching her intently. He was so devoted it was almost irritating. Like a lamb to the slaughter!
