#Thursdaydoors – Duxford Air Museum

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world. Feel free to join in on the fun by creating your own Thursday Doors post each week and then sharing your link in the comments below, anytime between Thursday morning and Saturday noon (North American eastern time).

The Imperial War Museum Duxford is near Duxford in Cambridgeshire, England. It is Britain’s largest aviation museum housing nearly 200 aircraft, military vehicles, artillery and minor naval vessels in seven main exhibition buildings.

These photographs of various aircraft are from our visit in 2016. They all have interesting doors.

      1. I know, Robbie. Guys and boys seem to be more interested in cars and aircraft. My husband used to go to car shows with his best friend Randy before he died of bike accident.

  1. This is a first, Robbie. I have only traveled to England once, but my friend and I visited Duxford. I am so glad to see your photos. They remind me of a very good trip, meeting with a great friend and a wonderful museum experience.

      1. My friend lives in Ipswich. I took the train up from London. I was only there for a couple days but he gave me a nice tour. I had taken him to our local air museum when he visited here. Duxford was incredible.

      1. the castles would be quite appealing as well. But my top choice would simply be a day at the beach. We never got to go to the beaches in England, since we were there from January-March…

  2. I watched the movie “The Martian” starring Matt Damon – And along with your post thought about doors on air and space craft. They really do have to be just right and secure. Engineering those fits must be mindboggling!
